Sabine Guidon’s Bikini Prep Journey

How’s it going ladies and gents! Today we are excited to share our client and friend, Sabine Guidon’s 20 week Bikini Prep Journey. Sabine has been a client of ours for quite some time and we first helped her with her Off-Season plan after competing at the 2014 Arnold Classic. Sabine was not satisfied with her package she brought to the stage for that show, so she wanted to redeem herself going into her next show which was in Auckland, New Zealand March 21st, 2015.

With some structure, world class guidance, science, and accountability we knew Sabine would thrive! So we set her up using flexible dieting for her daily nutrition, programmed her a properly periodized strength training protocol that emphasized Glute Training, strategically implemented cardio throughout her 20 week dieting phase, and she ended up doing very well while placing 3rd overall and qualified for Nationals in October 2015.

 

Week 1-

143 lbs.

We like to show these stats because too often we see misleading information about weight loss or contest prep success stories. The moral of Sabine’s story is she lost a significant amount of body fat, maintained lean body mass, and never had to deprive herself from foods she enjoyed during her prep.  The cool thing was we brought her in lean enough 3 weeks out from her show and implemented a “Metabolic Building Phase” aka Reverse Diet and fed her into her show to make her look harder, tighter, and fuller all around. She accomplished her goals without making her life miserable and was very content with her overall prep experience.

We’re extremely proud of Sabine and it’s been an honor coaching her and being a part of her journey.

See what Sabine has to say about her 20 week Prep Journey …

I decided to hire Dynamic Duo Training in March of 2014, I was just out of the Arnold amateur. I was working with a coach whose reputation is good, but I was really disappointed by the quality of his service. I felt like I did not get the attention I was looking for. Though, it was important for me that my future coach was practicing flexible dieting as I am truly unable to stick to a meal plan day in day out!

My first contact was good, there was a lot of communication and I decided to hire Eric. We discussed which direction to go with, I was on the fence between figure and bikini as my body is right in between. As my heart is all with bikini, we decided to go with bikini. I had a difficult off season. I had quite a post- show depression, previous prep was tough, almost miserable and I was so disappointed with the final results. Eric recommended me to take some time off my plan and work on myself, telling me he will always be there when I was ready to get back on track. I followed his recommendations, took a few months off where I trained and ate as I wanted to.

When I was mentally ready again, I contacted Eric again. I was 20 weeks out of a potential show. I was quite lean in regards of not having been so much structure while off the plan. We decided to give the show a try. Amazingly, Eric started prep by raising my calories for about 6 weeks!! I dropped weight and leaned out some!! He swore to me that he would not make my prep miserable. Last one still left horrible memories to my body and mind. I trusted him and my Prep was amazing!!!

We did not go over 2 hours of cardio weekly, only one HIIT and two LISS sessions per week we did!!! Training was fun and my calories did not get so low. We were even able to start reverse dieting me 3 weeks prior to show!!! I could not believe it, ending my prep by raising my calories. Every competitor in there knows that it is PRICELESS!!!! Despite, prep being good I had many mental struggles. Had to face a difficult job situation (I almost lost my job), a break up, and a glute injury three weeks out of my show.

Eric has been there all the way for me, at each of those difficult events. He was an awesome support and encouragement system. He goes above and beyond his role as a coach. I enter last week with tons of fear (my two previous coaches had totally fail my peak weeks and ruined my condition), Eric just nailed peak week!!! Not to mention that follow-ups during those seven days was out of this World!!! I was sending pics after each meal and he had me trying different foods to see what was better for my body.

As a result, his show day plan was a huge success despite not having any contact with me on that day. I enter the show in my best condition ever and took third place. I qualified for the Nationals in October. Did I mention that the show was not even done and Eric already had my post show game plan ready to go. To sum it up, Prep was amazing and coach Eric is da BOMB!!! I just cannot wait to start the next one and bring an improved package to the stage .
