Very Low Calorie Dieting to Eating 2,000 Calories and Dropping 8 Pounds

 

How’s it going ladies and gents! Today we are excited to share our client and friend, Jackie Nocera’s 12 week Reverse Dieting Success and Journey. Jackie first came to us with the goals of wanting to:

  • Improve her relationships with foods
  • Maintain her bodyweight
  • Maintain her body composition
  • Build her calories since she was doing very low calorie diets for quite some time

Jackie needed guidance and direction within her fitness journey and she was never afraid to ask for help.

We knew with a solid calorie building phase game plan, some structure, our guidance, science, and accountability….. Jackie would do awesome!

So we set her up using flexible dieting for her daily nutrition, she trained 3-4 days on her own, and incorporated her long distance runs 2-3 times per week.

12 weeks later, Jackie really improved her overall body composition while dropping a total of 8 plus pounds, increasing calories, improving her relationships with foods, and feeling better about her overall image!

136 lbs.

I’ve been through a serious weight roller coaster. I lost a lot of weight rapidly and went from the 150s to 106lbs by eating 800-1000 calories a day and excessive exercising. I gained it all back and then some to a highest recorded weight of 155lbs and was extremely unhappy about it.

I love to run and was still running a lot when I gained weight. I tried cutting calories on my own without seeing any results. I consulted a personal trainer and was working out with him 3 times a week, running, and eating based on his meal plan and even then in 3 months I’d hardly lost any weight.

I managed to get some weight off working with a dietician, but she soon decided that my body was “happy” and didn’t need to lose weight. I, however, was still not happy with my body and didn’t feel like she was listening to me.

Through a friend’s recommendation, I contacted Chris at DDT. Given my history of low calories, he wanted to reverse diet and add food to boost my metabolism before we cut down.  I was extremely hesitant. I worked so hard to get down into the 130s, that the thought of adding food and having my weight go back up was enormously daunting.

Chris was very reassuring and really took the time to talk to me about my concerns and explain the process. He gained my trust and I went through with his plan and I’m SO happy I did. My body has responded to the added food by letting go of some of the weight it’s held on to.

I’m now eating more food and I’m only 2lbs shy of my goal weight. I would never, ever have done this on my own. I’ve learned so much and feel like I’m in a better mental state when it comes to food, dieting, and exercise and I’m in a better physical state as well.

Since my body has more fuel, I’ve been able to increase paces during training runs and have PR’d in several distances. Working with Chris and being able to talk to him about anything and everything has been a true pleasure.

I’m happy with the way things are right now, but I know if I ever need any help in the future I know I can turn to him. The entire DDT community is so supportive and I’ve loved every minute of being a part of it.
